Conservative dribbling

The Conservative’s George Osborne was on the Andrew Marr show today (28/02/10) and I felt like I wanted to vomit..

George was rambling on about Conservative policy on the economy and how the Conservatives are the ‘only party for change‘. Well, they are clearly not – the English Democrats would bring about the biggest level of change in this country in over 300 years!

Our provisional ‘draft budget’ has equated that we could save the English economy over£110 BILLION per year;

*
£14.6 billion (at the rate of £40million per day) on the EU bill.
*
£50 billion a year to Scotland, Wales and N.Ireland (by way of the Barnett Formula).
*
Over £50 billion per year by scrapping many of the unelected Governmental bodies (Quangos) such as 8 of the 9 Regional Assemblies (London as the exception).

FACT: The level of (Net) National Debt was £848.5 billion at the end of January 2010. As a percentage of gross domestic product (GDP) this equates to 59.9%.

The English Democrats budget could therefore eliminate the national debt within 7 years with no cuts in any budget! However if we were to make cuts in the levels of Whitehall bureaucracy we could save billions more; this money could be used to provide for either tax-cuts or budget increases over the governance period.

It appears to me that Dean Lacey has a poor grip on the economics he writes about here. Where does he think our income comes from if not from Scotland, Wales and N.Ireland (many natural resources including North Sea oil) and from the EU (currently around 80% of our trade is with Europe)?

By losing these valuable links, as he suggests we should do, we would lose not only financial gains far greater than the billions thrown around in this article but also our standing on a political, diplomatic and cultural level.

Do not let ignorance of certain people taint the intelligent debate this election could bring.

Do not for get if teh English Democrats by some chance formed a Government teh economy would collapse so saving billions would be teh last thing to happen. More like we would make Greece look like a success story. It is all very well for these far right parties to assume they could run n economy, blind faith seems to be required.

Your details are incorrect, It is unfortunate that many people cannot see what our membership with the EU has done to us, The English Democrats are calling for the end of the EU membership costing us £42 Million per day simply to be 'Governed' by a European state, The English Democrats want to continue with 'Free Trade' as we always had done, Being part of the EU will only hinder us as a nation and the withdrawal from the EU will not damage our trade links. This is about equality , we have the right to have an English Parliament, to represent us here in England, I choose to be English first, as the Scots choose to be Scottish first, Your comment that this debate cannot be intelligent is a damning comment given that just over 60% of the people in England want an English Parliament, official.
